Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Job Summary

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in our organization plays a critical role in enhancing the well-being and resilience of formerly incarcerated individuals through comprehensive social services. This position requires a skilled professional with a deep understanding of the complex psychosocial factors affecting this population. The LCSW will employ a strengths-based approach, emphasizing client empowerment, diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery. Responsibilities include conducting thorough biopsychosocial assessments, formulating and implementing effective treatment plans, and providing both direct therapeutic services and case supervision. The LCSW will act as a liaison between clients and the broader social service system, navigating and advocating for resources that support client reintegration and well-being. This role also entails delivering training and guidance to staff, fostering an organizational culture that is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and aligned with best practices in social work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 

  1. Clinical Assessment and Oversight:

    • Conduct and oversee in-depth assessments to identify client needs and strengths, tailoring services to their diverse experiences.

  2. Therapeutic Interventions:

    • Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based, culturally sensitive practices.

  3. Integrated Case Management:

    • Collaborate with case managers and peer navigators to create a seamless care experience, respecting and valuing clients' unique life stories.

  4. Holistic Care Approach:

    • Apply a whole-person perspective in all therapeutic interventions, addressing the mental, emotional, and social aspects of health.

  5. Advocacy for Diversity and Inclusion:

    • Champion initiatives that promote inclusivity, equity, and respect for diversity within the program.

  6. Staff Development and Training:

    • Lead educational sessions for staff, enhancing their skills in areas like cultural competence and effective client engagement.

  7. Professional Ethics and Standards:

    • Uphold ethical standards of social work, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

  8. Documentation and Program Evaluation:

    • Keep comprehensive records and contribute to program evaluation to ensure continual improvement of services.

Qualifications:
 

  1. Licensure:

    • Active LCSW license.

  2. Experience:

    • Demonstrated clinical experience with populations impacted by incarceration.

  3. Clinical Skills:

    • Proficiency in a range of therapeutic techniques suitable for a diverse client base.

Job Requirements:
 

  1. Education:

    • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.

  2. Licensure:

    • Active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the state of practice.

  3. Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years of post-MSW experience in clinical social work, preferably with populations impacted by incarceration.

  4. Therapeutic Expertise:

    • Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.

  5. Assessment Skills:

    • Strong skills in conducting biopsychosocial assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.

  6. Cultural Competence:

    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and commitment to promoting inclusivity and equity.

  7. Communication:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with clients, staff, and external partners.

  8. Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant software for documentation and reporting.

  9. Leadership:

    • Proven experience in leading and training staff, with the ability to foster a supportive and collaborative team environment.

  10. Flexibility:

    • Ability to adapt to varying work environments, including community outreach settings, and to work non-standard hours as needed.
